Mourning 2024 Concert Series

The BonaVox Mourning Concert Series is inspired by both the feast of All Souls Day and the local natural disasters and other trials that we have faced as a community. This month around the world people honored their deceased loved ones in Masses, church services, other prayers, and visits to cemeteries. While doing so, we may grieve wounds that still feel fresh from years ago or recent losses in our family and circle of friends. We grieve many other things in life other than death as well, be it the struggle of rebuilding a home after a hurricane, broken families, the loss of a friendship, transitions in life, battles with addiction...the list goes on. Through this gift of music, we in BonaVox hope to invite you into your grief in a way that can inspire and fuel new hope, new joy, and peace. It won't be a magic fix to the pain we all face, but we hope it is a moment of rest and reflection for you on your journey.

As singers with the honor of participating in many funerals and celebrations of life, we see how that day can often be hectic for loved ones…this concert is for you. Please join us for an hour or so to reflect on life, death, love, loss…Our intention is to provide time and space to honor wherever you are on your journey. We hope that this time with this music might provide some healing, some comfort, some positive experience with recognizing that at its heart…grief is an expression of love.
